Marry in Haste / Francesca's Rake

Marry in Haste: Diana Whitney has been in hiding to escape an unwanted suitor when a strange man breaks into her house in the dead of night. Lord Alexander Valliant, it turns out, is a soldier returning from war who is in fact the owner of the house Diana has been renting. He is also the younger brother of the nobleman who has been protecting her. As Alex learns more about her circumstances, he offers to marry her and ensure that she remains safe. Francesca’s Rake: Viscount Clayborn spurns his dictatorial father’s demand that he marry a local heiress he has never met. Then he meets a beautiful and unusual woman en route to London. Instantly smitten, the rakish lord seeks to further his suit with her, not knowing however that she is the very heiress his father has chosen for him.
