The holiday cruise down the Rhine had begun by being an enthralling one for Marilyn Maitland - sunny weather, delightful scenery, relaxing surroundings, and congenial company. One of the party, a photographer, had declared that she 'had something' and insisted on using her as a model, and altogether everything was going well. But still Marilyn couldn't be sure whether it was being made or marred by the attractive but mysterious Blair Barron. He seemed to find her alternately attractive and untrustworthy, and her feelings for him were equally undecided. If only she could be sure how he really felt about her!
