Sebastiao Salgado

"In photographs taken over seven years and across more than thirty-five countries, Migrations documents the epic displacement of the world's people at the close of the twentieth century.". "Migrations documents the world-altering phenomenon of mass migration. Salgado's images collectively serve as a metaphor for the hundreds of millions of people who, in an elemental struggle for survival, have ruptured their ties with land and tradition in a flight toward other destinies. Salgado gives us a clearer picture of the enormous social and political transformations now occurring in a world divided between excess and need."--BOOK JACKET.
