Damnation History

When was the last time you heard a homily or talk on the reality of sin or evil, let alone damnation? Have we been so brainwashed by the misrepresentation of the Christian virtue of tolerance that we ignore such fundamental Christian doctrines as those concerning sin and its consequences? Haven't recent world events been a "wake-up call" for us to re-examine our own sinfulness and seek sincere repentance? Single Greatest Omission In this exciting and informative new CD series, Damnation History: Understanding Sin in Light of Salvation, Dr. Scott Hahn investigates the history of sin and evil. You will soon discover that the denial of sin ultimately stems from the single greatest omission of today, that of failing to look at natural life with supernatural faith. Scott reveals that such spiritual blindness is mainly caused by our failure to orient ourselves to life's ultimate goal, everlasting union with the Most Blessed Trinity. Everything else must be secondary to fulfilling this divine destiny! This in-depth presentation makes it possible for Scott to masterfully explain, as only he can, the mystery of God's grace in light of the mystery of man's iniquity. Drawing from Fides et Ratio, John Paul II's greatest (but perhaps most difficult to understand) encyclical, Dr. Hahn clearly lays the historical, philosophical and biblical groundwork in order to help you better grasp how sin causes us to "miss the mark" and thus fail to glorify God as originally intended. The Mystery of Iniquity Because Catholic Christians alone possess the fullness of the faith, Dr. Hahn reminds us it is more important than ever that we strive to make sense of "the mystery of iniquity." It takes the fullness of the faith to truly understand both the nature of the evil that attacked our country and the nature of the evil that attacked our first parents in the book of Genesis. Identifying the two fundamental dimensions of sin spoken of by the Holy Father, Scott considers personal sin and corporate. He traces sin the history of the mystery of iniquity, from original sin to the individual sins committed by persons and perpetuated by communities, emphasizing all the while the power of God to overcome them. Deepen Your Kinship with Christ Damnation History: Understanding Sin in Light of Salvation will open your eyes to view both the vertical and the horizontal dimensions of sin.
