Crystalline Glazes (Ceramics Handbooks)

"Crystalline glazes have a magical quality that appeals to many potters, but have a reputation for being difficult to achieve. Diane Creber explains and simplifies them in this book, making them accessible even for beginners. Diane Creber tackles all the problem areas associated with crystalline glazes, and explains them in a clear and thorough way, covering everything from suitable types of clay, crystal growth and glaze components through to kilns and pyrometers. In this second edition of Crytalline Glazes, many new images have been included, showing a range of forms with beautiful glazes, and details of crystals. But most importantly a whole new chapter has been added, profiling the work of 14 potters from across the globe. These artists discuss their approaches, technique and recipes for achieving succesful crystalline glazes. This new chapter makes this book not only a comprehenisve guide to this difficult subject, but an inspirational one too."--BOOK JACKET.
